USYD Defeat VU in First UBL Home Game

Sydney Uni Basketball have started Round 4 of the University Basketball League (UBL) with two convincing wins over Victoria University.

A strong showing on the defensive end in the men’s opening fixture saw USYD claim a 36-point win (99-63).

Parker Dale was a standout for USYD, putting together a string of plays at both ends of the court. Liam Humphrey was also a strong contributor off the bench, finishing multiple and-1 plays.

The women’s fixture was set to be a tight affair with Victoria University coming into the game unbeaten.

The first half was hard-fought, with USYD taking a slender 6-point lead into HT (24-18).

USYD’s offence began to flow in the the 2nd half, as the likes of Inez Tanoi, Sarah Wacher and Maddie O’Hehir pilled on points for the home side.

The final score saw USYD run out 21-point victors (67-46).

Attention now turns to tomorrow’s pivotal clash with crosstown rivals UTS.
