Holly Wills Commits to Sydney Uni Basketball High Performance Program

Sydney Uni Basketball are excited to announce NSW representative Holly Wills as the latest local prospect to commit to the new High Performance Program in 2021.

Wills joins Sydney Uni Basketball following a standout 2020 on the court, having been named in the Waratah 1 Youth League All-Star 5 for her key role in Manly-Warringah’s championship-winning team. Wills also played a pivotal role in Manly-Warringah’s Waratah 1 women’s side, which reached the semi-finals for the first time since 2017.

Wills was also recently selected in the 2021 NSW U20 squad, having also previously represented NSW at U16 and U18 levels. In the recent Shelley Gorman Invitational, Wills relished the opportunity to represent the NSW U20 team against some of Australia’s best basketballers in Leilani Mitchell, Lauren Nicholson and Shyla Heal.

NSW Representative Inez Tanoi Joins Sydney Uni Basketball

NSW Representative Inez Tanoi is set to represent Sydney University in the inaugural University Basketball League (UBL), following her commitment to the Sydney Uni Basketball High Performance Program in 2021.

Tanoi, who plays locally with the City of Sydney Comets, joins Sydney Uni Basketball following a successful junior career, where she represented NSW at U16 and U18 level, whilst also being selected for this year’s U20 NSW squad.

Tanoi joins Ryan Abbott, and a number of young, talented NSW basketball prospects who have chosen to continue their basketball development locally with Sydney Uni Basketball.

Australian Junior Ryan Abbott Commits to Sydney Uni Basketball

Sydney Uni Basketball are thrilled to announce the signing of Australian junior Ryan Abbott, who will join the new Sydney Uni Basketball High Performance Program in 2021.

The 6’8 forward has represented both NSW and Australia throughout his young career, competing for the U17 national team at the 2019 Oceania Championships, where he averaged 9.2 points in 15 minutes per game (67.95% FG, 46.2% 3PT).

Twelve Sydney University students are set to represent Sydney Uni Basketball in the upcoming 3x3 Big Hustle NSW Championships at Centennial Parklands.

Taking place on Saturday 23rd January, Sydney Uni Basketball will field two men’s and a women’s team in the tournament’s open-age category.
